Immigration Postcard Campaign

In collaboration with the position of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Archdiocese of San Antonio is conducting a postcard campaign to urge Congressional representatives to continue pursuing comprehensive immigration reform that gives legal status to Dreamers, respects the rights of persons seeking asylum in our country and preserves the unity of families. These postcards are addressed to Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn and to the House member for your House District.

Our parish has received postcards from the Archdiocese, and we are urged to complete the postcards. This is not obligatory—you are free to participate or not. These postcards are for registered voters. If you are not registered to vote, you can still help by taking the postcards to your families, neighbors, friends, etc. who are registered voters. Please take as many postcards as you think you need. You can either fill out the information on the postcards before you leave church this weekend or you can fill them out at home and return them to the parish office. If you complete the information prior to leaving church this weekend, please leave your postcards in the designated collection point. All postcards need to be returned to the parish by August 5. We will deliver them to the Pastoral Center on August 6.

As people of faith, we believe in protecting the dignity of every human being, particularly that of children and youth. Our faith traditions call us to welcome the stranger and to recognize the sanctity of family. Thank you for considering taking this simple action to do that.
