You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you.

Isaiah 26:3

One of our concerns is the difficult adjustment that people have to make when struggling with the loss of a loved one. We know that grief can be a very powerful and overwhelming process that may leave one confused or troubled. We also know that you may have lost a loved one this past year. Therefore we would like to invite you to attend a six week program that we here at St. Francis of Assisi are sponsoring through our Family Life Ministry.

“Life After Loss” is a program designed by the American Cancer Society to help bereaved people better understand the process of grief and how to live through it in a way that is healing. It also provides a place for people to share their experiences and support each other in their grief. It will be a combination of teaching, discussion and learning activities. The sessions are open to those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, and there is no charge for the program.

The program will take place at our church, St. Francis of Assisi, beginning February 23, 2010 from 11:30 – 1pm. It will meet at this time for six Tuesdays through March 30, 2010. The group will be facilitated by Paula Loring, LMSW – Director of Porter Loring Family Care Servies and Lori Mulady Burdick, MA LPC - St. Francis of Assisi Family Life Minister.

We hope you will take advantage of this program if you feel it might help you understand and heal your grief. Please feel free to call Lori Mulady Burdick, MA LPC – Family Life Minister directly at 492-4600 Ext. 118 or at
