Are you interested in increasing your participation at Mass? Have you considered serving as a liturgical minister? Training sessions for new ministers are coming up soon! We highly encourage families and couples to serve together, especially in hospitality or as altar servers. Read a short description of each ministry and register for a training session below. Communion ministers help the priest by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. These individuals are also called Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist because it is truly an extraordinary service. Communion ministers must have received the sacrament of confirmation.
Readers proclaim the Word of God at Masses by reading the first and second readings during the Liturgy of the Word. They also lead the prayers of the faithful.
Altar servers assist the priest during Mass by performing various tasks, from leading the procession with the crucifix to holding the sacramentary so that the priest can read the prayer. Children who wish to be altar servers must have received their First Communion.
Hospitality ministers and greeters are responsible for welcoming parishioners and visitors into the church, helping them find seating, taking up the collections, and distributing bulletins at the end of Mass.
