To Celebrate a Life of Love: Mary Escalera Pizzini

August 21, 1933 – August 22, 2017

Mary Escalera Pizzini, beloved wife of Robert Allen Pizzini died August 22, 2017 with her family by her side in San Antonio, Texas. In her last days, she celebrated 66 years of marriage with Robert by her side. Her most memorable times were Christmas with her family and her travels to Europe. She loved music. Her favorite songs were “Memory” and “Ave Maria,” and she especially loved Italian opera. She lived her life with style and grace, but most of all she wanted to be remembered as “I was mom.”

She is proceeded in death by twin girls, Mary Lou and Mary Ann Pizzini, and a son, Robert James Pizzini.

Mary is survived by her husband, Robert Allen Pizzini; her four daughters, and three sons in law, Deborah Pizzini Keen, married to Chris Keen, Danette Pizzini Stein, married to Michael E. Stein, Diane Pizzini Chowning, married to Marks Chowning, and Denise Ann Pizzini; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and a sister, Ana Escalera Uviedo, and husband, Joe Uviedo.

Services

Visitation will be Monday, August 28, 2017 from 6 pm to 7 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.

A Mass will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4201 De Zavala Rd. Interment at San Fernando Cemetery No. 3.
