To Celebrate a Life of Love: Melvin L. Kriewald

November 12, 1933-August 5, 2017

Melvin L. Kriewald quietly passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017. He was born on November 12, 1933 in San Antonio at the Nix Hospital.

He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He is preceded in death by both parents, Louis and Jessie Kriewald. He is survived by his spouse of 21 years, Angie Kriewald; daughter, Karen Rehm and son-in-law, Mike Rehm; grandchildren, Nicole Rehm Crozier and husband, Cade; grandson, Christopher Rehm; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Don Barnes; nephews Ron Barnes, Randy Barnes and Rusty Barnes; sisters-in-law: Lety Villarreal, Janie Medina and husband Dan; niece, Mari Medina Pickering; nephew, David Medina and wife, Christine; great niece, Annemarie Pickering and great nephew, William Pickering.

Melvin proudly served in the U.S. Army from August 12, 1954 through August 1956. For 27 years, he was employed with the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Throughout his lifetime he had owned and operated several different businesses and ended his career with Ferrell Gas Company. His greatest pleasures were his family, gardening, hunting, and love of country music.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Melvin’s caretakers, Jose Barrios and especially Maria Ester Mata for her wonderful care, compassion, and daily loving attention.
