Outreach Ministries
Make an impact outside of our parish community to those in need around the city and around the world. Our outreach ministries provide opportunities to practice the corporeal works of mercy: feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, shelter the homeless, clothe the naked, and give alms to the poor. Make a lasting impact.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity volunteers help construct a house for individuals struggling financially. Volunteers meet for planning and then work hands-on at the construction site.
Living Water Mission Trip
Living Water International volunteers drill water wells in a Central American village where water is scarce or unsafe to drink. Each year, volunteers travel to a different country in South America. Fundraisers offset team members’ cost of travel.
Mobile Loaves and Fishes
Mobile Loaves and Fishes volunteers prepare and distribute food, clothing, and toiletries to needy persons in the urban San Antonio area. This outreach ministry is funded through the generous donations of parishioners.
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent De Paul provides food and financial assistance to needy individuals and families in the parish boundaries. Volunteers assist individuals one-on-one as they seek assistance in the office. During the holiday season, we have our Thanksgiving food drive and Angel Tree. Funding is provided primarily by a monthly collection during Mass and through parishioners’ donations of food.

Sister Parish Collaboration
The sister parishes of St. Francis of Assisi are Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Timothy Catholic Church in San Antonio. Volunteers attend quarterly meetings to discuss synergistic ways that we can use our resources to assist our sister parishes.
Faith in Action Team
Faith in Action Team (FIAT) volunteers deliver donated care kits of personal items (shampoo, soap, etc.) to communities impacted by large-scale disaster (e.g., tornado, fire, hurricane).
Peace, Life, and Justice
Peace, Life, and Justice volunteers promote and advocate for the common good of all people by standing in solidarity with members of the local community who suffer injustice. Volunteers promote and participate in the initiatives of the Office of Peace, Life, and Justice of the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
