To Celebrate a Life of Love: Rodolfo P. Muniz
May 28-1942-August 15, 2022
With heavy hearts, we announce that Rodolfo (Rudy) Paredes Muñiz, age 80, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. He was born May 28, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas and was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacia and Enrique Muñiz, and brother, Ernest Muñiz. Rudy is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Maria (Mary) Ochoa, brother, Andrew Muñiz, sisters, Elisa Craig and Bertha Jones, and his children: son, Michael (Steven) and daughter-in-law Jill, daughter, Michele, and son Christopher and daughter-in-law Anne, granddaughters: Kailey and Bridget, Sofia and Olivia, and Orla, as well as five nieces and three nephews. He was blessed with the love of his entire family.
Rudy was an avid learner, a trait that began at Burbank High School and led to his passion for chemistry at St. Mary’s University and the University of Texas Austin. He served in the U.S. Air Force in 1965 and 1966, a period that forged his interest in military aircraft support. He continued his career as a chemist at Kelly Airforce Base before retiring in 1990 after 26 years of service. An expert in his field, Rudy moved on to form Aero-Tech Metal Finishing, Inc. together with his wife in 1987 which continues today with the support of his son, Michael.
He greeted all people with his sense of humor, generosity, and passion for life. He enjoyed time with dear friends hunting and golfing, and had an affinity for luxury sports cars. Rudy valued his family and his faith. He was a very spiritual man who studied scripture and devoutly supported his family parishes, St. Paul’s Catholic Church, and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where he joined his circle of friends as a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Silver Stars. He found joy in supporting the work of the Hermanas Josefinas in San Antonio, and his family is pleased to honor his lifelong spiritual values through interment at Resurrection Cemetery, which will support the work of the Cordi-Marion sisters who serve the less fortunate through teaching, social work, and prayer.
Rudy was truly blessed; he loved and is loved eternally.
