Young Adult Ministry
It is the mission of the St. Francis of Assisi Young Adult Ministry to create, maintain, and nurture in the St. Francis of Assisi parish community a place where young adults will enter together more deeply into the life of Jesus Christ by offering their individual and collective youth, vitality, talents, and energy to the service of others and the community and by forming a community of friends and peers who, together, enjoy working, playing, studying, learning, and seeking to bring Christ’s presence to the world.
The St. Francis of Assisi Young Adult Ministry is made up of young adults roughly 22-35 years of age. The group meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for faith formation, prayer, and group discussion. Additionally, the group takes opportunities to participate and serve in the life and ministry of the St. Francis of Assisi parish community, as well as the greater San Antonio community. For instance, the group volunteers with St. Francis’ Mobile Loaves & Fishes on the third Saturday of each month, helping to prepare and deliver meals to those in need. The group also holds social activities and events to get to better know one another and grow together as brothers and sisters in Christ. These activities have included hiking, Top Golf, an escape room, brunch after Mass, and pumpkin carving.
