Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Mobile Loaves and Fishes One Million Meals

Join Mobile Loaves and Fishes as they celebrate their one millionth meal! The celebration will take place on August 10 at 5 pm Mass or August 11 at the 11:15 am Mass with a reception following in Henke Hall. All are invited to attend! There will be commemorative t-shirts and hats available for a donation.

Pancake Breakfast

Men’s Club will be hosting Pancake Breakfast will be hosting Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, August 4 after the 8:30 am and 11:15 am Mass. All are welcome to attend, this is a free event, but donations are welcome.

Parish Pilgrimage to France

Join Fr. Tony and your fellow parishioners on a 15-Day Pilgrimage of Art and Faith to La Belle France, scheduled for September 12-26, 2024. We will visit the art treasures of Paris and Lyon, sip the burgundy wine of Beaune and the champagne of Moët & Chandon, wander through the famous food markets where food becomes an art form, marvel at the papal palace in Avignon and the Roman excavations in Lyon and Arles, celebrate Mass at the Basilica of Saint-Denis in Montmartre, pray at the Grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes and participate in the Lourdes Eucharistic Procession. As Saint Augustine said, “The world is a book and those who do not travel ready only one page.” Come with us and read the page called France. Faith Formation

Register for Faith Formation 

We are excited to announce that registration for Faith Formation at St. Francis of Assisi is now open for children from Kindergarten to 12th grade! Our comprehensive Faith Formation programs are designed to nurture and deepen the faith of our young parishioners through engaging and age-appropriate lessons and activities.

Elementary Faith Formation:

  • Sundays at 10:00 am

  • Tuesdays at 4:30 pm

Middle School (EDGE):

  • Sundays at 10:00 am

  • Tuesdays at 7:00 pm

High School (Life Teen):

  • Sunday evenings after the 5:00 pm Mass

We encourage all families to enroll their children in these enriching programs to help them grow in their faith and connect with our vibrant parish community. To register or for more information, click here.

Adult Confirmation Class

Our next Confirmation Class for Adults is scheduled for July 28 – August 5. This is a five week course, meeting on Sundays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. To register, please send your name and phone number to AdultConfirmation@sfasat.org.

As a reminder, if you are baptized in another Christian tradition and have not received your First Holy Communion, you would participate in the Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA). This is also true if you have not been baptized and are coming new to the Catholic Church. Click here to view Adult Confirmation information.

Gathering in the Spirit

Gathering in the Spirit will be hosting Season 4 of the Chosen on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of June, July and August in the JP II, from 9 am -11:30 am. There is no cost and all are welcome. Please contact Lorraine Bedingfield at 210.380.8939, by text to reserve your spot.

American Heritage Girls Registration

Are you looking for an opportunity for your daughter to grow in Christ-centered leadership? Make friends in her church community? Learn new skills, serve her community, enjoy the outdoors, and have fun? The American Heritage Girls Troop TX3145 invites St. Francis girls ages 5-18 to join our troop. Our program runs from August till May, and we are opening registration exclusively for St. Francis of Assisi parishioners during the month of July. Open registration will begin on August 1. Our Common Home Meeting

Our Common Home will be meeting in the library at 6:30 pm on Monday, July 29, 2024. We will discuss fundraising, festival participation, a trip to Bracken Bat Cave in September, a field trip to Mitchell Lake in October, our pollinator garden project, and paragraphs 11-12 in Laudato Si. Everyone is welcome, including family members!

Save the Date for Our Blood Drive

Save the date for the Blood Drive on Sunday, August 25, from 8:45 am to 1:45 pm. Our goal for this drive will be 26 pints of blood. All donors will receive 2 Santikos Theater movie tickets for their participation! More information will come in the following weeks.

CYO Youth Soccer Registration

CYO Youth Soccer is officially open for the upcoming season. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, we invite you to join us for an exciting season of fun and sportsmanship.

KofC Wheelchair Deliveries to the Parish

The new wheelchairs are here! The St Francis of Assisi Knights of Columbus have now made available a wheelchair in each of the parish's buildings. Our Knights helped the KofC Chapter unload 280 wheelchairs from the American Wheelchair Mission. A total of 47 Brother Knights participated, representing 12 Councils and 4 Diocese. This was a huge display of Unity. These 280 wheelchairs will affect the lives of 2,800 recipients and their families.

Above is a picture of our newest Knight! Alejandro “Alex” Sanchez became a third degree Knight of Columbus with Council 15240 on July 17th.

Jose Gallardo Named as Knight of the Month

Jose Gallardo was named the San Antonio Knights of Columbus “Knight of the Month” for his work as the interim choir director. Mike McGlothing said Gallardo’s leadership before the new music director was named was something that he and others in the council appreciated.

Dove Hunt

A Dove Hunt will be hosted on October 1 in Hondo, Texas. Register early as space is limited. All men and women of the parish are invited. Beyond Cana: A Marriage Enrichment

The Beyond Cana® retreat begins Friday at 1:00 pm, October 4th and ends Sunday, October 6th after the 10:00 AM Mass. Cost of $349.00 per couple includes lodging for two nights at Drury Inn & Suites, 8818 Jones Maltsberger Road, San Antonio, TX, breakfasts (Sat/Sun), lunch (Sat), and all the retreat materials.
