Confirmation

In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ.Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world.  . . .  We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service. - USCCB

Adult Confirmation

This program is for parishioners 18 or older and who have received the sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion but have not yet been Confirmed. Individuals who have not been baptized or have not received their First Communion should consider the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). Married individuals applying for the class must be married validly in the Catholic Church. Those seeking convalidation of their marriage should contact the parish office regarding Marriage Formation before applying for Adult Confirmation. Contact Deacon John Flores at AdultConfirmation@sfasat.org for more information.

As a reminder, if you are baptized in another Christian tradition and have not received your First Holy Communion, you would participate in the Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA). This is also true if you have not been baptized and are coming new to the Catholic Church.

Teen Confirmation

Teen Confirmation preparation begins during the candidate’s sophomore and junior year of high school. Preparation consists of weekly classes, a retreat, and community service that led up to the confirmation Mass with the Archbishop in late spring. Please contact Jordan Lux at jlux@sfasat.org for more information.
