Lent and its Practices: Faith, Hope, and Love

A season that began as a time of final preparation for catechumens awaiting initiation at Easter has become a time to recall our Baptism, helping us to live a life centered on Faith, Hope, and Love, the core of our Catholic Christian lives according to St. Augustine. How do the practices we have during Lent help us to be a people of faith, hope, and love; especially in this Jubilee Year of Hope? The first evening will focus on the origins and purpose of Lent. Stories of conversion in faith will provide examples for further exploration. The second evening will more intentionally look at faith, hope, and love as the core of our Catholic Christian way of life. - Scott Woodward, DMin
