Scout Troop 498

Troop 498 had an amazing September and October is on track to be just as great.  Last month the Troop held its Fall Open House, elected its new leadership, welcomed the Mens Club and had an amazing campout at Canyon Lake where the troop learned canoeing basics as they prepare for their High adventure in the Canadian wilderness next Summer.  Finally they held their Court of honor for FIVE new Eagle Scouts and recognized the troop's last six months of accomplishments including 175 Nights Camped, 23 awards earned, 108 Merit Badges earned, 19 rank advancements, and 100+ Logged SCUBA Dives.

October has kicked off with the troop delivering another Eagle Scout Project benefiting the City of Shavano Park and supporting Francis Fest.  In one weekend the troop logged over One Hundred Hours of Community Service!

This month the Troop will camp at Guadalupe River State Park to work on their Fishing Merit Badge, prepare for their New Mexico Backpacking adventure and Canadian Canoeing Adventure.
