Habitat for Humanity

Our Mission

Beginning in 1999, we have teamed with Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio, Inc. (HFHSA) to build an affordable home every fall here in San Antonio. Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio, Inc. (HFHSA) is an ecumenical Christian non-profit housing organization working in partnership with God’s people in need to build decent and affordable houses without interest or profit, thereby witnessing God’s love in action.

Our 2024 Family

The Garcia family is so thankful to be accepted into the Habitat homeownership program.

“A Habitat home will be a blessing to our family, I’ve always wanted to give myself and my kids a forever home” states Leticia Garcia.

Leticia enjoys watching TV and movies with her children, and their entire family plans to cheer for the San Antonio Spurs this basketball season!

Leticia plans to invite her friends and family over for home cooked meals.

Our 2024 Build

The St. Francis of Assisi Habitat team is partnering with St. Luke’s Catholic Church again for our 2024 Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio home build. We moved our usual Fall project to a Spring build. The home construction will begin on February 2, 2024, and work Fridays and Saturdays until March 23, 2024. We will end with landscaping day on April 13, 2024. Our partnership with St. Luke’s enables us to take “ownership” of the home build process as well as gave our group the opportunity to build relationships with our homeowner and neighboring Catholic parish members.
